The Clover Café at RHS Garden Hyde Hall forms part of the wider visitor experience within this impressive horticultural setting. As part of an extension to the Visitor Centre, turnerbates reimagined and rebranded the existing café, creating a calm and welcoming space for visitors to pause, rest and connect with the landscape.
The identity is rooted in the site’s agricultural heritage. Once a dairy farm, the surrounding Essex meadows were historically rich in clover, inspiring both the café’s name and its visual language. This narrative is carried through the interiors with subtle botanical references, soft natural tones and biophilic elements that create a seamless connection between inside and out.
The design draws directly from the surrounding gardens, using a nature-led palette, layered textures and a variety of seating settings to support different visitor needs. The result is a relaxed, characterful environment that complements the wider Hyde Hall experience, offering a contemporary yet grounded space shaped by its landscape.
