The Boulevard, Banbridge is Northern Ireland’s premier outlet shopping destination, relaunched in early 2018 under its new name and brand following a £7 million investment by joint venture partners Tristan Capital and the Lotus Group. Originally an open-air retail scheme, the centre has been transformed into a popular contemporary shopping and leisure destination.
A key element of the redevelopment was the installation of a large-scale ETFE canopy spanning the central boulevard. The lightweight, translucent roof provides year-round weather protection while maintaining daylight and the feel of an outdoor environment. Illuminated at night, the canopy has become a signature architectural feature and a central part of The Boulevard’s identity, supporting its repositioning as a day-to-evening destination. These interventions have reinforced the scheme’s status as a modern, flexible, and commercially resilient retail destination.
